Jesuit Holy Week Mission 2026 in Guayabillo, DR.

By P. Michael Anthony Martínez, SJ

Moca, Dominican Republic: From April 1st to 5th, the 2026 Easter Jesuit Mission of the Caribbean Vocational Ministry was held. Seven young people and four Jesuits accompanied the community of Guayabillo for the Easter Triduum, with the theme “Why do you search for the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5).

The Chapel of the Heart of Mary is part of the Parish of Jesus Christ King of the Universe in San Víctor, Moca. There, they were received by Father Jesús Manuel La Paz García and by the generous families who welcomed them into their homes to eat and share life.

The Society of Jesus in the Dominican Republic has a long tradition of accompanying the mission in Guayabillo. This was the first time the Jesuits had returned since 2019.
