New Provincial of the Caribbean: Fr. Jorge William Hernández, S.J. 

Father General Arturo Sosa, SJ, Superior General of the Society of Jesus, has appointed Fr. Jorge William Hernández Díaz, SJ as the new Provincial of the Caribbean Province.

Father Jorge William Hernández, originally from Cuba, entered the Society of Jesus on July 31, 1997, and was ordained a priest on September 30, 2006. He completed his Tertianship in Goa, India, in 2012.

She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana. Subsequently, within the Company, she completed her novitiate in Havana (1997–1999), her juniorate and philosophy studies in Havana and Santo Domingo (1999–2001), her regency (magisterio) in the novitiate of Santiago de los Caballeros (2001–2003), and her Bachelor's degree in Ecclesiastical Studies in Granada, Spain (2003–2006), later completing her Master's degree in Systematic Theology in the same city (2014–2016).

Throughout his ministry, he has served as Coordinator of Youth and Vocation Ministry and Novice Director in Camagüey (2006–2012); as well as parish priest of Saint Joseph Parish in the city of Camagüey (2007–2012), National Director of the Loyola Centers in Cuba (2012–2014), and Director of Loyola School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (2017–2023). He is currently the Vicar of the Santísima Trinidad University Parish in Santo Domingo, Superior of the San Ignacio Residence, and Delegate for the Dominican section of the Caribbean Province.

We will later announce the precise start date of your mission as Provincial of the Caribbean, which is estimated to be around the feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
