Annual meeting of the Jesuits of the English-Speaking Caribbean (Santo Domingo, 2026).

The Jesuits of the English-Speaking Section of the Caribbean Province (a section that includes Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad) held their annual meeting from July 30 to August 6 at the Manresa Loyola Retreat House in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. As every year, this meeting is a space for fellowship among companions, celebration of life and vocation, and the evaluation and development of apostolic plans carried out in each of the ministries.
On this occasion, 18 Jesuits from this Caribbean section, along with Fathers Martin Lenk, SJ (former Provincial), William Hernández, SJ (new Provincial), and Jesús Zaglul, SJ (Assistant to the Father General for Northern Latin America), participated in the activities and celebration scheduled among the Jesuits of the Dominican Republic. The English-Speaking Caribbean was present at the celebration of the Final Vows of Fr. Eduard Figueroa, SJ, the inauguration of the new Provincial of the Caribbean, the Solemnity of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, and the biennial Vows of the novices held in Santiago de los Caballeros.
The days of the meeting served to strengthen the ties between the English-Speaking Section and the Dominican Section of the Caribbean Province, providing the opportunity to visit the works of the Company in the Dominican Republic, learn about their projects and challenges, and see the ways Jesuits serve their respective communities.
Finally, the meeting of the English-Speaking Section concluded with the celebration of a Thanksgiving Eucharist for the 50 years of life in the Society of Jesus of Fathers K.P. George and Jesús Zaglul, which was also attended by the Jesuits residing in Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal. Another step in the process of strengthening identity and unity of spirits from the Caribbean Province.
