At 8:30 am local time in Santo Domingo (6:00 pm in Bengaluru, India), Father Edwin Anthony, SJ, professed his final vows in the Society of Jesus. Along with him, the Jesuits of the Province of Karnataka (India), Fathers Alwyn Prakash D’Souza, SJ, and Royston Stephen Madtha, S.J., also professed their vows. The celebration was presided over by Fr. Dionasias Vaz, SJ, Provincial of the Jesuit Province of Karnataka, and took place at the chapel of St. Joseph’s Boy’s High School, in Museum Road, Bengaluru. At the Eucharist, Fr. Edwin Anthony, SJ was accompanied by his parents and his fellow missionaries in the Jesuit Province of the Caribbean, Fathers Jaison Lobo, SJ and Ramesh Vanan, SJ. The latter, Superior of the Anglophone Caribbean, delivered the homily of the celebration. We congratulate Fr. Edwin on this renewal of his consecration, which links him forever to the universal Society of Jesus, and especially to the Caribbean, where he exercises his ministry as Superior and parish priest of St. Ignatius Mission and Coordinator of the pastoral platform for the interior of Guyana.
