For safer environments for everyone.

Fifteen collaborators from the various works of the Society of Jesus in the Dominican Republic participated in the Participatory Risk Analysis Workshop for Safe Environments, organized by the Caribbean Abuse Prevention Office.

Held at the Manresa Altagracia Retreat House in Santo Domingo from May 15 to 18, 2026, the Workshop offered tools to promote a culture of care in schools, social works, and administrative and pastoral structures where work is done with children, adolescents, and vulnerable populations.

Likewise, participants were able to share ideas for the development of the Risk Map for each of their works, and the future creation of protocols that enhance the conception of safe environments.

The meeting was accompanied by Fr. Cristian Peralta SJ, Delegate for the Prevention of Abuses, and Ms. Gricel Paulino, Executive Coordinator of the Office of Prevention. It was the first step in the establishment of the Network of Liaison Officers for the Prevention of Abuses in the works of the Dominican Republic.
